All prices are negotiable. We put your interests first. Pursuit Planning and Investments, LLC, does not prepare estate planning documents or tax returns, nor does it sell insurance products. However, we will work with you to find the best professionals for your unique situation.
Wealth Management
Clients may also choose to engage in ongoing financial planning and investment management.
We refer to this as wealth management. Engaging in wealth management coordinates your investments with your financial plan.

Are you a fiduciary all the time?Yes. 100% of the time. A fiduciary must work in your best interests. A fiduciary is expected to act with honesty, loyalty, and care.

Do I have to sign up for ongoing support or investment management?No. You may add on these services. You must complete a financial plan to sign up for ongoing support. You are not required to have an financial plan to receive investment management services.

Do you sell products?No. We are an independent, fee-only financial planning firm. The only way we are compensated is through the fee we charge to clients for delivering our service, which is fiduciary financial advice and investment management.

How are you compensated?We are only compensated directly by our clients. We do not receive any commissions or kickbacks from selling financial products like mutual funds or insurance policies. We operate as a fee-only firm. Fee-only financial planning is where a financial planner charges their clients only for the services they provide, rather than earning commissions or other compensation based on the financial products they sell.

Do you have an investment minimum?We do not require investment minimums. We do not expect you to use our investment management services. You may take our recommendations and implement them on your own.

Who do you typically work with?We specialize in working with working professionals, professionals nearing retirement and families who want to grow wealth and live their best lives. Most other advisors focus on helping those who are in retirement. Our focus is to help you get there. We spend most of our time focusing on making the most of your cash flow, optimizing your savings, fine tuning your retirement plan, helping you evaluate investment opportunities, and enjoying your best life today.

What is your investment philosophy?Managing risk is the foundation of any investment portfolio. We favor using low-cost, tax-efficient, index-based investments. However, we don't stop there. We see investments as something beyond cash, stocks, bonds, or employer options. Your portfolio consists of also any real estate or businesses. We incorporate these investments into your comprehensive plan to make informed decisions on how best to manage risk.

Do you offer tax planning?We see tax planning as an essential element of any financial plan. In addition to helping you evaluate tax-efficient investment strategies, we help you better understand your tax opportunities and risks. We spend time reviewing your tax returns and use that information to make informed decisions regarding how best to manage your taxes. We do not offer tax preparation services but are happy to work with your tax preparer.

How do you meet with clients (and how often)?We offer virtual services. We meet via Teams. We are always open to meeting face to face for those who live in the Portland, Oregon, area. We typically meet every other week when working with clients to create an initial financial plan. The initial plan usually takes between four and six meetings (we are flexible to each client's needs and schedules). We usually meet ongoing planning clients every four months. We are very accommodating to your needs. So, your financial planner's calendar is available for any unknown items that crop up in your finances. For clients who only engage with investment management services, we typically meet once a year, and your planner's calendar is available to discuss investment-related items as needed.
