Know Your Options

Enjoy this week's edition of the Planner's Beta

Beta (n) - climber's jargon that designates information about a climb This digest's purpose is to share observations, ideas, and treasures found this week which you may also find insightful. Sharing does not mean it's an endorsement. I am endorsing the pursuit of knowledge and exploration.

Something Fun

When will national parks reopen? Some are starting now (LA Times) - We are patiently waiting for the trails and parks to open here in Oregon. But even if they do open, we will likely be going off-trail to get out and away. Are you going to go to the parks when they open?

Something about Pursuit Planning and Investments, LLC

Getting married or recently tied the knot? Are you trying to understand how to combine your finances and work as a team? It can be frustrating and confusing. I offer project-based services to help couples map out where they are and where they want to go. We do this over two meetings. We start by discovering your habits, values, and goals. Creating a solid foundation makes it easier to manage finances as a team. Once we understand what makes your team tick, we dive into options on how to structure your accounts and manage your money so that you are progressing toward paying off debt, saving for a home, and starting a family. The outcomes will include a goal map tied to your values and vision, account structure charts, and insights on how to manage your dreams and finances together. Place time on my calendar to learn more!

Something About Financial Planning

Confused about delaying your mortgage payments? You're not alone. (CNN Business) - Many folks have sought relief on their mortgage due to loss of income. However, if you are looking for assistance, be sure to understand the relief provisions fully. Federal loans have accessible information available for your options. If your mortgage is not backed by the fed's, you may find it harder to understand all your options. The big take away, understand how much you will owe and when.

Something About Economics

Recovery Tracker: A Real-Time Look at the Post-Covid U.S. Economy (Bloomberg) - Data is much more available today than during the 2008 Financial Crisis. This Bloomberg Tracker aggregates data from several sources to help readers understand the state of the economy, something which was not as readily available a decade ago. This tracker illustrates how several metrics, from ridership of public transit to restaurant bookings to active oil rig counts, are changing over time. Something that sticks out to me, the market was falling before many of these other metrics made drastic drops. There is a crucial lesson here for investors. Markets are forward-looking, and prices in the markets reflect what the future may hold.
